Dr Gilkar MBBS joined the surgery as a Partner in July 2014. He is well know in the community and is a member of Bradford City Clinical Commisioning Group.
MB ChB, FRCS is a salaried GP. He has a special interest in minor surgery.
Roxy is our Senior Practice Nurse. She holds Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Advanced Diploma in Health Studies, Diploma of Higher Education in Health Studies and Postgraduate Certificate in Diabetes care. Roxy has a Diploma in Respiratory Disease. Recently she successfully completed her independant Prescriber course. She previously worked as a District nurse.
Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
Christine recently joined the team as our 2nd healthcare assistant. Christine runs our Bradford Beating Diabetes Clinics. She holds smoking cessation clinics, does our 24 hour BP, ECG's and Spirometry checks alongside dietary and healthy living advice. Christine also undertakes new patient health checks and is a phlebotomist. She also supports our nurses with flu jab clinics in the winter months.
The Practice Manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The Practice Manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.
Nicole is supported by Phil Edwards, Data Quality Manager.
Shahnaz Begum is our senior receptionist, alongside Shahnaz we have Bron Edge, Jill Petrovic, Nafeesa Shah, Lizzie Edge, Joanne Brown and Millie Rhodes who all make up our reception and administration staff. The team will assist you in making routine and emergency appointments. They also take details of repeat prescriptions, answer the telephone and deal with enquiries.
The reception staff have a very difficult job to do, juggling with limited resources and without detailed medical knowledge - please be patient.
Our district nurses work closely with the doctors and are able to provide home nursing and advice about care and convalescence after discharge from the hospital for those confined to their homes.
